The NYC ADA Birthday Party
Date

It’s been a pretty incredible month.

Send a note of congratulations to Disability Pride NYC and the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities on the historic First Annual Disability Pride Parade which took place on Sunday, July 12th, in NYC. What a great moment, and great fun. The Chinatown Partnership and Art Beyond Sight proudly joined other partners in and advocates for the disability access and inclusion community in celebrating this day of music, dance, speakers, education, and camaraderie.

Celebrate the moments in photos we took to share with the community. FLICKR PHOTOS. If you need assistance in finding photos of your group, please call Art Beyond Sight at (212) 334-8720.

And we're looking forward to another wonderful FREE and open-to-the-public event when we next get together on Sunday, July 26th for the Chinatown Americans with Disabilities Act’s 25th Birthday Party. Scheduled from 11am until 4pm as part of the DOT popular Weekend Walks, this momentous event will be celebrated on historic Mott Street on Mott Street from Canal to Worth Streets, which boast a wealth of attractions, great restaurants and local businesses, all of which draw large crowds of multicultural and multiethnic visitors. For more information and to register, please visit explorechinatown.org. Engage with music, dance, and art with the community of arts organizations, museums, theatres and many more.

The event will offer a wide range of activities—interactive art-making projects such as making raised line drawings, collages and origami figures; textile recycling demonstrations; noodle-making demonstrations, music and dancing in the streets, food vendors, health screenings, a dunk booth, and many more attractions. This FREE event is a great opportunity to celebrate with like-minded others in the disability, access and cultural communities through informative and fun games, activities, performances, booths from local cultural and disabilities groups, and much more. Access accommodations available. For more information, please visit explorechinatown.org.
