Yep, it’s winter out there. The days are getting longer, but not fast enough. But Art Beyond Sight and the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities know a way that you can beat the winter blues: LAUGHTER! Join ABS, MOPD, and special guests from the NYC comedy community as we giggle and guffaw our way through the last dark nights of February. Experience a unique comedy performance, hear about NYC’s proud tradition and future of comedic performance, and help the pros learn how to make their performances more accessible to everyone.

Drop in for AccessNYC's Cultural Night Out at the Andrew Heiskell Library after work, one Thursday each month, for an event that is part social gathering, part interactive workshop, and part NYC exploration. Each month we'll celebrate a different arts and cultural offering. Enjoy a show of dance, theater, music, or fine arts; then join in with hands-on participation, and hear about accessible events around NYC related to that month's theme.

About the Workshop:
Learn improv comedy in a drop-in workshop with Thunderbolt Comedy's Chris Griswold. Get a taste of improv by joining us in improv games and exercises. Chris' guest performers will help him demonstrate concepts with short performances geared toward a blind audience throughout. Chris and friends will stay at the end to answer attendees' questions about improv.

About Chris Griswold:
Chris Griswold is the founder and Academic Director of Thunderbolt Comedy. Having taught improv since 1999, Chris is currently one of the world's most prolific improv instructors, coaching more than 2000 hours in 2014 and 2015 alone.
