Brooklyn Public Library is committed to serving children with special needs, their parents, caregivers and educators by providing accessible programs for children from birth to age twelve at five of our neighborhood libraries. Children with and without special needs play and learn together in engaging programs in an inclusive environment. We also work with children recieving special education services in neighborhaood schools and district 75 programs. We serve parents, educators and caregivers of children with special needs through our large exceptional parenting collections and workshop on issues ranging from specific disabilities and educational advocacy to communication and behavior management. Since 1986, this unique Brooklyn resource has opened its doors to all children. Everyone is invited - The Child's Place for Children with Special Needs is for you!
