The Chester Historical Society endeavors to provide education about and the preservation of the local history of the town and village of Chester, NY and vicinity. To this end, we present public programs and operate the 1915 Erie Station as Chester's Local History Museum on the former Erie Main Line in Chester, NY about fifty miles northwest of New York City. Open Saturdays 9 am to 1 pm May trough October. Groups by appointment anytime. This Arts and Crafts influenced passenger station replaced the original 1841 station in 1915. After sitting in disuse for several decades, it opened on 12 June 1999 as Chester's Local History Museum. Handicap Accessible. Memberships available.
