Pre-Visit Information
Other Important Pre-Visit Information
CCM, in partnership with The Autism Program of Illinois (TAP), has developed a Storybook Guide that describes each of the museum's interactive exhibits. Reading about the exhibits prior to visiting can relieve anxiety, ease transitions, and help children better anticipate the experience.

Parents, caregivers, and professionals can also explore the benefits of play. CCM has partnered with the Belle Center of Chicago to develop Therapy Play Guides, which highlight the play therapy benefits that can be found in each exhibit. Caregivers can download the Storybook Guide and Therapy Play Guide by going to the Access & Inclusion page on CCM's website. Copies are also available at the museum admission desk.

Chicago Children's Museum (CCM) believes play is the right of every child. It is our mission to provide multimodal play and learning opportunities that accommodate different interests, styles, and needs. As an institution, we promote and honor diversity, appreciating that a diverse museum community includes people with disabilities. CCM believes an accessible and inclusive museum must address each visitor's total experience-making the museum's facilities, offices, exhibits, services, programs, and staff welcoming to all people. Access and inclusion practices are intended to open doors and are recognized as critical components of CCM's planning and development. "Play For All" is a CCM initiative that recognizes the rights of all guests, volunteers, and staff to have full access to our community where play and learning connect. "Play For All" supports the execution and growth of CCM's accessible and inclusive practices.
